ARI-hetra Launches Industry’s First 9,000 lb. Capacity Wireless Mobile Column Lift

The first 9,000 lb. capacity mobile column lift, delivering 36,000 lbs. of total lifting capacity, ALI-certified safety, and reliable ball-screw performance for dealerships and medium-duty fleets.

Sharonville, OH — ARI-hetra, a leading U.S. manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance equipment, announces the expansion of its Battery-Powered Wireless Mobile Column Lift lineup with two new capacity offerings that bring the company’s proven heavy-duty lifting technology to automotive dealerships and medium-duty fleets: the BPW-4-4-AJ, the industry’s first 9,000 lb. capacity wireless mobile column lift delivering 36,000 lbs. of total lifting capacity in a four-column configuration, and the BPW-7-4-AJ, a new 14,000 lb. capacity wireless mobile column lift delivering 56,000 lbs. of total lifting capacity.

Unlike traditional hydraulic mobile column lifts, the BPW-4-4-AJ and BPW-7-4-AJ utilize electromechanical ball-screw technology that eliminates hydraulic cylinders, hoses, seals, and fluid. The hydraulic-free design provides precise synchronization, continuous mechanical locking, reduced maintenance, and lower total cost of ownership. Both models are ALI Certified and ETL Listed.

“As vehicles continue to grow in size, weight, and complexity, service facilities need lifting solutions that provide greater flexibility without sacrificing safety or reliability,” said Steve Green, Vice President of Engineering at ARI-hetra. “The BPW-4-4-AJ delivers 36,000 pounds of total lifting capacity to safely lift virtually any vehicle found in a dealership or medium-duty fleet shop, so shops can benefit from a lifting solution that aligns with their application while reducing overall ownership costs compared to higher capacity equipment.”

For service facilities performing cab-off repairs on modern pickup trucks, both lift models can be paired with ARI-hetra’s Cab-Off Adapter, enabling safe cab removal and wheels-free frame service while helping maximize bay utilization and service capabilities.

  • Industry-first 9,000 lb. capacity wireless mobile column lift (BPW-4-4-AJ) providing 36,000 lbs. total lifting capacity in a four-column configuration

Why Heavy-Duty Shops Should Bring Wheel Alignment In-House

In the world of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, uptime is everything. Whether you’re servicing transit buses, long-haul trucks, or municipal fleets, every hour a vehicle sits idle is time and money lost—not to mention the cascading delays it can cause for customers, passengers, or essential services.

One often-overlooked service that can make or break your schedule? Wheel alignment.

Traditionally, many heavy-duty shops have outsourced wheel alignment work to third-party providers. While outsourcing can seem convenient, it comes with hidden costs and challenges that can slow operations. Thanks to advancements in mobile alignment technology—like the new WS-MobileAlign from ARI-HETRA—shops can now bring alignment work in-house and reap significant benefits.

1. Reduced Downtime = Faster Turnaround

Outsourcing alignment work often means scheduling appointments days in advance, transporting vehicles to another location, and waiting for the job to be completed. This downtime not only delays the repair process but also removes the vehicle from service longer than necessary.

By bringing alignment capabilities in-house, your technicians can perform alignments on the spot—often the same day. This means vehicles spend less time off the road and more time doing what they’re meant to do: generating revenue or delivering critical services.

2. Lower Long-Term Costs

While outsourcing might look like a cost-saving shortcut, the repeated labor and transport costs can add up quickly. In-house alignments eliminate transport costs entirely and reduce dependency on outside vendors.

Plus, with modern alignment equipment like the WS-MobileAlign, you’re not paying for complex installation or sacrificing valuable bay space. Its mobile, compact design allows it to roll anywhere in your shop, maximizing your investment and lowering your per-alignment cost over time.

3. Greater Scheduling Flexibility

Fleet maintenance schedules can change in an instant—especially in industries like transit, trucking, and emergency services. Outsourcing alignment services locks you into someone else’s calendar, which isn’t ideal when you’re dealing with tight deadlines or unexpected service needs.

With your own alignment system, you’re in full control. You decide when the alignment happens—whether it’s as part of a planned maintenance interval or an urgent repair.

4. Consistent Quality & Control

When you outsource, you trust another shop to meet your quality standards. Bringing the service in-house means your own trained technicians are performing the work, using your preferred procedures and quality checks.

The WS-MobileAlign, for example, uses advanced 3D imaging, HD cameras, and wheel-mounted targets to deliver precise results every time—ensuring your fleet maintains peak performance and safety standards.

5. Space-Saving, Technician-Friendly Design

One reason many shops have hesitated to bring alignment in-house is the perceived space and training requirements of traditional systems. The WS-MobileAlign solves both problems:

  • Portable Mobility: Roll it from bay to bay or position it directly where you’re working.

  • Versatile Operation: Works at ground level, on a lift, or over a pit—no dedicated alignment bay required.

  • Ease of Use: The intuitive software and tablet control make it simple for techs of any skill level to operate.

The Bottom Line

Outsourcing alignments may feel like a short-term convenience, but it often costs shops valuable time, money, and flexibility. By bringing alignment capabilities in-house—especially with a mobile, heavy-duty-focused system like the WS-MobileAlign—you’ll keep vehicles on the road longer, reduce your operating costs, and maintain complete control over service quality.

When it comes to your fleet’s uptime and your shop’s efficiency, in-house alignment isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a competitive advantage.

4 Ways to Streamline Government Procurement & 2 Simple Steps To Get Started

Gov Purchasing Blog
Understanding Cooperative Contract Purchasing

Cooperative contracts are agreements that have been competitively solicited by a lead public agency. These contracts can be “piggybacked” by other government entities, enabling them to benefit in 4 ways:

  1. Cost Savings: Access to pre-negotiated pricing established through a rigorous solicitation process.
  2. Compliance: Align with state and federal procurement regulations.
  3. Simplified Procurement: Reduce the complexity and duration of purchasing cycles, eliminating the need for a lengthy bid process.
  4. Quality Assurance: Confidence in acquiring high-quality, vetted products.

ARI-HETRA’s Commitment to Cooperative Purchasing

ARI-HETRA, a leader in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance equipment, recognizes the value of cooperative contracts in facilitating efficient procurement for government agencies. By participating in multiple cooperative purchasing programs, ARI-HETRA offers agencies the flexibility to select the contract that best suits their needs. Oftentimes, being able to use a cooperative contract requires a simple (and free) agency member sign-up at their website.

Key cooperative contracts available through ARI-HETRA:

These contracts cover a wide range of ARI-HETRA’s product offerings, including mobile column lifts, drive-on scissor lifts, exhaust extraction systems, tire balancers, and more.

With over 90,000 agencies nationwide eligible to utilize these contracts, the reach and impact of cooperative purchasing are substantial.

2 Simple Steps to Get Started:

  1. Contact ARI-Hetra at 800-562-3250 to be connected to a Regional Sales Manager in your area, who can provide you a quote under a cooperative agreement.
  2. For compliance questions, reach out to Contracts Specialist, Tekla Goodwin, at [email protected] or mobile 513-484-1066.

By embracing cooperative contract purchasing, government agencies can achieve greater efficiency, cost savings, and operational excellence in their procurement processes.

ARI-HETRA stands ready to support these efforts with a comprehensive range
of high-quality maintenance equipment and services.
